– MCDONALD’S TO PAY RESTITUTION

James Jin Kim v. McDonald’s

Kim & Bae, PC, achieved a successful outcome for out client, Mr. James Jin Kim, in a lawsuit against the McDonald’s restaurant located on Main Street in Flushing, Queens. Mr. Kim, an elderly Korean patron, was assaulted by the store manager, Rooshi Sajjad, with a broomstick when he complained about the time it took to prepare his coffee. The assault narrowly missed Mr. Kim’s head and eyes, resulting in injuries to his hand. Kim & Bae represented Mr. Kim and sought damages for unlawful discrimination, battery, assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and negligent supervision. The case was titled James Jin Kim v. McDonald’s.

Dong Sung Ahn v. State of New Jersey

Partner B.J. Kim represented Dong Sung Ahn, an eleventh grader at Palisades Park high school at the time, who got into a skirmish in the cafeteria line during lunch. Palisades Park Police Department wrongfully arrested Dong Sung and initially charged him with aggravated assault without conducting any material or objective investigation into this matter.
